Since 1985, Synchrotech Controls has been delivering customised generator and power control solutions across Australia. From our purpose-built facilities in Brisbane’s north, we design, manufacture, and test complete turn-key power systems.

As a Boilermaker/Welder at Synchrotech, your work would revolve around fabricating generator enclosures, skids, structural frames, piping systems, and fuel handling equipment, often for large-scale power stations, Defence bases, and oil & gas projects. You can expect a mix of structural steel welding, stainless steel TIG/MIG work, and pressure-rated pipe fabrication, with projects ranging from mobile trailer-mounted gensets to multi-megawatt packaged gas power stations.

What We Offer

$30–$40/hr depending on experience

9-day fortnight

No weekend work required

The Role

Working closely with our Workshop Foreman and Project Engineer, you’ll deliver high-quality fabricated products. Your day-to-day work will include:

Fabrication & Welding

Building generator and power plant enclosures (from small 20kVA units to multi-megawatt systems)

Structural frames, skids, and pipe supports

Fuel tanks, bunded systems, and pressure vessels

TIG/MIG welding on mild and stainless steel, including piping systems

Power Generation & Modular Builds

Packaged generator sets (gas and diesel)

Skid-based and mobile/trailer-mounted units

Cogeneration systems that recycle engine heat into hot water or steam

Fuel Systems

Gas treatment skids for CSG, LPG, and biogas

Diesel tanks, spill containment, and bulk fuel systems

Hazardous-area compliant skids for oil & gas applications

Electrical & Ancillary Fabrication

Containerised switchrooms and electrical cabinets

Cable trays, load banks, and support structures

Workshop vs Site Work

Mostly workshop-based: welding, cutting, assembly at our Northgate facility under ISO 9001 systems

Occasional site work: assisting with installation and commissioning (1–2 times per year, 2–4 week blocks)

What We’re Looking For

Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade

White Card (general construction induction)

Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Flexibility to take on new tasks and work independently

(Desirable) Forklift or EWP licence
