An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and hands-on FoodManufacturing Supervisor to join a well-established Australian food manufacturer in Lidcombe. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced FMCG environment and is ready to take the next step in their career.
Our client specialises in manufacturing vegetable products and supplies Nationally into the Big 4 supermarkets as well as independent retailers.

- Wage role of $37.70 p/hr - $40 p/hr + daily overtime ($80,000 – $90,000 (OTE) + Super (based on experience)

About the Role
You will be responsible for guiding daily production operations, ensuring product quality, safety, and team performance on the factory floor. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day production and ensure safe, efficient operation of machinery and equipment
- Supporting the Production manger in leading a team of 15 Production workers
- Open and close the site securely, including alarm activation (Hours between 5am and 3:30pm)
- Training and supervision of process and machine operating staff as well as task allocation of staff
- Coordinate and monitor batch preparation (mixing, weighing, cooking) to meet quality standards
- Produce batches including mixing, weighing and checking ingredients, as per specifications and procedures.
- Monitor batches by recording and checking Critical Control Points (CCPs) and Quality Control Points (QCPs) as per procedures. Any deviations from specification must be reported to the Production Manager and QA Officer.
- Assist in the preparation of vegetables and other ingredients.
- Ensure machinery is set up and used correctly and maintained in good working order, in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines, to ensure safe and efficient production on a daily basis. Assist with production line maintenance and change of tools/equipment.
- Assist cook, record and maintain quality checks, as per company procedures
- Check that Quality control procedures are being adhered to.
- Conduct and verify quality checks, including CCP and QCP monitoring
- Supervise and assign tasks to production staff
- Support the Production Manager and QA team in maintaining compliance with HACCP and SQF protocols
- Assist with machine changeovers, cleaning schedules, and troubleshooting production issues
- Operate a forklift as required (High reach and Counterbalance)
- Promote and maintain a strong food safety and WHS culture
- Relieving staff on machinery and production lines to cover breaks
What We’re Looking For
You will be a very hands on leader, one that leads by example and is not afraid to get their hands dirty, work on process lines, operator production machinery, assist with batch cooking all whilst driving a positive and safe working culture.
Your experience will include:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in food manufacturing or FMCG
- Proven leadership experience in a similar hands-on role
- Sound knowledge of HACCP, SQF, and food safety procedures
- Current Forklift Licence (Mandatory) (High Reach and Counter Balance forklift operating)
- Solid understanding of WHS and GMP practices
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer operating skills
- Excellent organisational, prioritisation and multi-tasking skills.
- Ability to perform the manual duties required within this position.
- Solid work ethic, reliable, honest and trustworthy.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and unsupervised.
- Having worked in fresh food / vegetable manufacturing environments is highly advantageous
