Purpose of the role

The City Futures directorate focuses on developing our strategy to ensure sustainable and responsible planning and development for all aspects of our City.

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate Civil Engineer to gain excellent exposure to a range of engineering matters. As a recent graduate, you will be able to participate in numerous projects currently underway at the Council. This role sits within the City Infrastructure Business Unit and operates under the Asset Planning and Traffic & Road Safety team, and may rotate through to other teams within the City Futures directorate. As an Engineer, you will get an in-depth insight into applying the engineering skills you have learned at university to real life asset planning and traffic/transport issues within the Bayside local govern area.

We are looking for someone who has:

· Completed a minimum of 2 to 3 years of a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering; or

· Graduated in 2024 or due to complete their bachelor’s degree in 2025.

You will have current working rights in Australia and will need to demonstrate leadership qualities and teamwork skills. You will have a desire to continuously learn, an innovative mindset, be pragmatic and not afraid to be involved in all aspects of the program, having excellent verbal and written communication skills.
