Community Support Worker – Mental Health (Sydney-wide)

Sydney Health & Care Services (SHCS) is growing across Greater Sydney. We're looking for reliable Community Support Workers who can support participants living with mental health challenges — including complex behaviours and dual diagnosis (drug & alcohol).

Start casual with steady hours; part-time contracts available once your client base is established and your reliability is proven.

What you'll do

Provide person-centred support at home and in the community

Work confidently with complex behaviours using de-escalation and clear boundaries

Support daily living: routines, appointments, skill-building, goal tracking

Follow Behaviour Support Plans and complete accurate notes after each shift

Collaborate with families, clinicians, and the SHCS team to keep supports safe and consistent

What you bring

A reliable car with comprehensive insurance (mandatory), full unrestricted Australian driver's licence, and willingness to travel across Sydney

Proven reliability, professionalism, and excellent communication

Minimum 6 months experience in mental health, disability support, or community services (or Certificate IV in Mental Health)

Calm under pressure; strong judgment and boundaries

Smartphone literacy for rostering and documentation

Must-have compliance (or willing to obtain)

NDIS Worker Screening Check

Working With Children Check (NSW)

First Aid & CPR

Police Check

Unrestricted work rights in Australia

Preferred: Certificate III/IV in Community Services, Mental Health, or related field (or equivalent experience)
