About the role
Play-based Paediatrics is seeking a passionate and experienced Paediatric Speech Therapist to join our small, but dynamic team of Allied Health professionals in Brisbane, Queensland. We believe that parents are experts in the welfare of their children and therapy should not be "one more thing" a child living with disability must just endure. We aim to make our therapy as engaging and fun as possible in as non-clinical a setting as possible. As a full-time Paediatric Speech Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, evidence-based speech therapy services to our young clients, helping them develop essential communication and language skills.
What you'll be doing
Conducting comprehensive speech and language assessments to identify clients' individual needs
Developing and implementing personalised treatment plans to address speech, language, and communication difficulties
Delivering engaging, play-based therapy sessions to help clients achieve their goals
Collaborating with additional allied health team members as well as parents, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to client care
Maintaining detailed client records and providing progress reports and assessments.
Continuously expanding your knowledge and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in paediatric speech therapy
What we're looking for
A bachelor's or master's degree in Speech Pathology or Speech-Language Therapy
Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Paediatric Speech Therapist, preferably in a clinical or community-based setting
Experience treating children aged 0-3 years is essential
Demonstrated expertise in assessing and treating a wide range of speech, language, and communication disorders in children with differing diagnoses.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
Passion for working with children and a commitment to evidence-based, family-centred practice
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Registration with Speech Pathology Australia and a valid Working with Children Check
