This large private property development group has a strong multi-billion dollar pipeline of projects in place and is well set for future growth. As part of this they are looking for a new Finance Manager to come on board and take ownership of their project accounting function.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the role will entail:

Manage and review project P&Ls, budgets, and forecasts, highlighting variances and trends.

Perform bank reconciliations and assist with cash flow forecasting for development projects.

Prepare and lodge BAS and GST returns for development entities, ensuring compliance with property-specific tax rules.

Prepare monthly drawdown summaries and funding support schedules for financiers and internal stakeholders.

Perform balance sheet reconciliations related to development projects.

Process and reconcile inter-company transactions and project-level recharges.

Perform loan reconciliations for project debt facilities.

Support the preparation of management reports and financial analysis for development teams and senior management.

Respond to audit and compliance requests related to development projects.

Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes for project accounting and reporting.

Maintain project ledgers for multiple property development projects, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Prepare Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) calculations and detailed project reconciliations

Essential Criteria:

CA/CPA Qualified or working towards

3+ years experience in property development accounting or project accounting with exposure to large multi-stage projects

Knowledge of COGS workings and project reconciliations

Strong Excel skills and exposure to job costing

Commercially astute with the ability to influence cross-functional decisions

Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset

Able to work 5 days in the office
