ABOUT US
We are a rapidly growing and unique medical service designed to assist former and current Defence personnel plan their transition from military to civilian life. As a medical service that was established by Veterans for Veterans, we aim to compliment established medical and ex-service organisations by assisting with DVA Claims, Permanent Impairment Assessments, Veteran Review Board (VRB) reports and ADF Transition Medicals.
ABOUT THE POSITION
We are seeking a Technical Systems Specialist to join our corporate team. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role acts as the subject matter expert (SME) for AVHS’s IT systems and data governance. You’ll work closely with our external IT provider, monitor infrastructure integrity, and lead initiatives to enhance system performance, security, and compliance.
This is a hands-on role that supports IT across clinical, financial, operational, and HR functions, while also maintaining our SharePoint site and staying ahead of developments in AI and privacy legislation.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate with our external IT provider for installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting
Monitor and review AVHS’s IT infrastructure, servers, platforms and network devices
Lead IT strategy, governance, and roadmap development
Manage and update AVHS’s SharePoint site
Ensure compliance with privacy laws and IT governance standards
Provide technical support across multiple sites
Manage IT assets, backups, and disaster recovery procedures
Conduct internal audits and prepare reports for senior management
Collaborate with internal departments to support change management
Deliver IT training and support to staff
Essential Criteria
Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology
Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT management.
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Experience with SharePoint administration and workflow development
Ability to work independently across multiple sites
Legal right to work in Australia
