An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Business Services Accountant to join our professional, supportive and friendly team in our modern offices located at 41 Exhibition Street (41X).

The Business Services Accountant role is responsible for:

Working with the client manager to manage a portfolio of clients across a diverse range of industries

Using technical expertise across accounting and tax to deliver Annual Statutory Financial Statements, tax returns, and reconciliations, for companies, partnerships, trusts and Self Managed Super Funds from start to finish including billings.

Preparing taxation returns for individuals and organisations

Prepare logical and accurate working papers

Preparing and lodging BAS’s, IAS, FBT Returns by the due dates

Introducing and maintaining accounting systems, and advising on the selection and application of computer-based accounting systems

Providing guidance and support to junior team members, through quality feedback and review, coaching and delegation - depending on their own level of experience

Attend client meetings with Partner/Managers

About you:

We want to hear from enthusiastic people who have:

18 months or more in relevant experience within an accounting practice

Bachelors degree or higher qualification and be completing their CA qualification (or want to start)

Well developed communication skills (written and verbal)

Excellent time management and personal organization skills

Have exceptional customer service skills and a positive "can do attitude"

Have excellent presentation

Experiences in using MYOB AO/AE Practice Software would be highly regarded, although not essential. If you have used XERO, APS or other accounting software, that too will be considered favourably

Excellent MYOB AccountRight/MYOB Business/Xero Accounting software skills

Microsoft Office Suite including Microsoft Teams

High attention to detail

Natural ability to work within a team environment

Proactive nature and ability to work autonomously

Committed to self-development and have ambitions for yourself and others
