Our client is a local, for purpose and not-for-profit organisation that provides a range of services including a prominent Disability Support division. They strive to alleviate everyday pressures and challenges for their clients and above all else, give them quality of life and independence. We are looking for a General Manager for the Disability Support Team to lead the delivery of the services.
About the role:
As part of the Senior Management Team and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the design and delivery of support services;
- Conducting the initial intake meeting with new clients;
- Designing initial support budgets;
- Leading supported independent living solutions;
- Negotiating and liaising with families, clients, Government departments and support staff;
- Ensuring compliance and having a deep understanding of the NDIS;
- Delivering quality outcomes, including effective reporting of outcomes;
- Coordinating program budgeting and financial milestone management; and
- Managing five team leaders, a Program Manager and ~70 staff in total.
About you:
To be successful in the role, you will ideally have:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in leading and managing support to clients with a disability;
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the NDIS framework and the NDIS Act;
- Demonstrated experience in management, including team leadership;
- High level skills in customer relationships including clients, carers, investors and key stakeholders;
- Excellent communication skills including written, verbal and IT skills; and
- The ability to lead change and introduce, implement and monitor continuous quality improvement.
The General Manager will join an experienced, stable team who knows the sector and the organisation’s approach. We need a strong leader who will guide the team and the service into the next chapter. Support from a Compliance Officer, the Quality Team and HR will help you and your team with the intricacies of this role and the overall success of the service.
