Our client is a large NSW government department that provides extensive transport services. This is a large, multi-layered business that is undergoing a range of transformation initiatives
Role Description:
The role will entail working with senior leaders to review how divisions and branches are set up and ensure their structures, roles and accountabilities align with the operating model.
Responsibilities:
- Develop functional accountabilities for divisions, branches and units.
- Map current and future state accountabilities to account for any changes.
- Develop organisational design and structural options aligned to the operating model organisation design principles and characteristics
- Develop and/or oversee the development of detailed organisational structure charts - accounting for position and people in current and future state structure charts.
- Ensure alignment to organisational workforce data, resolve anomalies and highlight changes from current to future state.
- Drive consistency across Divisions and Branches in organisation and role design approach.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships with business leaders and enabling functions
- Provide oversight, quality assurance and coordination for the preparation of role descriptions and the job evaluation process to ensure compliance and consistency.
- Ensure governance and alignment across the organisation of organisational design, mapping to job families and creation of role capabilities
- Identify potential areas of risk and ensure mitigation plans are in place.
- Work with change and implementation teams, and business stakeholders to ensure organisational transition processes accurately reflect design intentions.
Skills and Experience:
- 5–7 years in organisational design and change or transformation roles
- Extensive experience leading large scale workplace redesign or transformation projects; ideally in a unionised environment
- Have a strong understanding of contemporary organisational development practices - based on emerging issues and trends.
- Experience in designing and implementing organisation design solutions for large, complex organisations, or government agencies, as an internal role and/or through external consultancy.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to simplify complex information
- High level writing and editing experience.
- Track record in building trusted relationships with executives is essential.
- Tertiary qualifications in either Organisational Psychology, Human Resources, Business, or a similar field or an equivalent combination of formal qualifications and experience.
