The Chinchilla RSL Memorial Club Inc, Chinchilla QLD 4413 provides a wide range of entertainment, meal, and function services to our local community. Day-to-day operations require food service to our bistro, bar area and multipurpose function rooms. We are seeking a Cook with a can-do attitude, focus on safety, and a passion for great food and service to join our kitchen team. Accommodation available.

Qualifications & experience

Australian recognised Commercial Cookery Qualification

Minimum 2 years relevant experience

Must be competent and versatile across all kitchen operations including deep fryer, pans, grill and cold larder

Ability to work nights, weekends and split-shifts.

Ability to work effectively within a team

Ability to remain calm under pressure and work unsupervised

Tasks & responsibilities

Ensure efficient and timely food preparation and delivery of meal services

Support and participate in the implementation and management of the Food Safety Program, including actively identifying hazards, and recording incidents

Clean, sanitise and maintain cooking utensils, equipment and food preparation areas

Ensuring accurate portioning, and that special dietary requirements are observed

Ensuring all OH&S compliance is achieved, adhere to safe work practices and safe food handling procedures

Contribute to menu planning in collaboration with other Cooks and Chefs

Contribute to workplace culture by displaying high levels of customer service and contributing ideas

Follow correct safe handling techniques to transport and store food items

Knowledge of chemical handling

$82 000 plus superannuation salary
