ALK Build, a growing architectural studio specialising in residential projects—including extensions, new homes, and duplexes—is seeking a skilled Architectural Draftsperson with 2+ years of professional experience and strong Revit skills to join our team.

This is a great opportunity for someone hands-on, organised, and looking to build experience in a small studio environment where their ideas and input will directly impact.

This is a full-time role based in our Lane Cove office, with the flexibility to work from home part of the week to support a healthy work–life balance.

Responsibilities:

Liaising with clients to understand project needs and incorporating feedback into designs.

Collecting and interpreting information, regulations, and instructions to ensure compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian standards.

Collaborating with senior designers to prepare architectural plans and documentation for Development Applications (DA), ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and design and construction standards.

Drafting and reviewing architectural drawings, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements.

Coordinating consultant documentation and integrating it with architectural plans to maintain consistency across all project materials.

Working with architects to develop the concept design phase (Pre-Design/Phase 0), including necessary project studies by applicable laws and standards, and implementing them into initial schematic design (Phase 1) drawings, following specified guidelines and standards.

Skills required:

A minimum of 2 years’ experience working on residential projects in Australia, preferably on custom homes (please note: applications without this experience will not be considered).

Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is essential; experience with SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

A tertiary qualification in Architecture, Building Design, or Drafting.

A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (365 suite).

Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow through on tasks requested by senior team members.
