Manning Support Services (MSS) is an award-winning community service organisation that has been operating on the NSW Mid North Coast for more than 40 years. MSS is a multi-service not-for-profit, with a mission to enhance the quality of people’s lives by providing services which enable them to live with dignity and respect.

Due to the expansion in our service, MSS has positions available to join our pool of casual Supervised Contact Workers, Supervised Transport Workers, and NDIS Workers in the Taree area.

Supervised Contact Worker: The role involves supervising contact visits between children in Out of Home Care and their birth family members in a safe and supportive environment. The Supervised Contact Worker is responsible for the transportation of children and young people and assisting with a range of activities during the visits. This role may also involve providing day or overnight support/respite either in the family home, community or motel accommodation.

Supervised Transport Worker: The role involves transporting and supervising children and young people in Out of Home Care. The Supervised Transport Worker is responsible for the transportation of children and young people between care arrangements, appointments, and visitation.

NDIS Worker: The role involves transporting, supervising and mentoring children and young people or their parents in day to day living tasks in the home and in the community. The NDIS worker is responsible for the care and safety of the children and young person while assisting with a range of activities during the supports. This role may also involve providing day or overnight support/respite either in the family home, community or motel accommodation.

Selection Criteria

Essential Qualifications and Requirements:

Supervised Contact Worker:

Tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences with a minimum Certificate IV in Community Services, Child, Youth and Family, Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent industry experience

Supervised Transport Worker:

Minimum Certificate 3 in Community Services, Child, Youth and Family, Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent industry experience

NDIS Worker:

Certificate III in Community Services or Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care

Current NDIS worker check (NDISWC).

Completion of NDIS worker training modules

All roles:

Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role

Knowledge of child protection practices and mandatory reporting guidelines

Current First Aid and CPR certificates

Current employee Working with Children Check

Current National Criminal History Check, or willing to get one

Current full NSW driver's licence

Use of a reliable and suitable personal vehicle, with anchor points for child seat restraints. Vehicle must have current NSW registration and minimum third-party property damage insurance.

Use of a smart phone and a computer with internet access

Ability to write objective, accurate and concise case notes

Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word) skills
