Your Role

As a "Hands On" Queensland State Operations Manager, you will be a proven and successful leader having worked in medium to large sized businesses in the Construction Hire Industry or similar.

You will have a strong knowledge of the civil construction industry along with a strong financial capability, excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

You will have strong people management skills with the ability to motivate a team, encourage a customer service-oriented culture, and build on the existing success of the business.

You will hold full accountability for the operational management and cost control of the Queensland region for the two current locations.

Key Responsibilities:

Capability to deliver a safety-first culture and exceed our company WHS performance targets.

Manage Staff retention, performance and development.

Deliver exceptional customer service.

Provide strong leadership for your region

Drive operational performance, including cost control and P&L management.

Manage your hire fleet/plant and equipment to ensure set targets are met.

Lead operational improvements to enhance productivity and quality

Foster and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with our key accounts

Keep abreast of industry trends and identify new opportunities for growth

Collaborate with Management on strategic decisions and initiatives

What We're Looking For:

A Strong understanding of WHS and the importance of a safety-first culture.

Operational Management experience of 5+ years

Experience in the Civil Construction Hire Industry or related industries

Self-motivated with exceptional staff management skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and work under pressure

Experience working with Tier 1 Civil Contractors and understanding their compliance needs will be highly regarded
