About the role
Join Wyndham Council in the newly redesigned role within our City Operations Directorate. The Project Methodology and Capability Specialist reports the Risk, Methodology and Systems Lead and works alongside a small but highly driven team.
In this role, you will lead the ongoing development, management and implementation of the Project Management Framework (PMF) and provide specialist project management advice and support to the broader project community. This is a unique opportunity to lead and coordinate a significant piece of change by joining the organisation at a time when we are refining and re-developing the PMF- make this role your own!
You will utilise your highly developed stakeholder management and communication skills to coordinate the ongoing capability development of the Project Management Community to ensure staff across the organisation are adequately skilled in key areas relating to project management.
What your day will look like
Monitoring PMF usage trends, identifying gaps, and prioritising improvements based on user feedback, audit insights, and delivery outcomes
Delivering training, coaching and guidance to uplift project management knowledge and capability across the organisation
Designing, developing and implementing PMO induction training for newly onboarded project professionals
Maintaining and updating project management e-learning modules and supporting materials
Establishing metrics and reporting to measure capability uplift and framework effectiveness
Building strong partnerships with internal stakeholders to embed best practice project management disciplines and foster continuous improvement
What you will bring
Degree or diploma in a relevant project management field, with significant subsequent experience OR higher qualifications in project management (highly desirable)
Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies, frameworks, and capability uplift within complex organisations
Proven experience in developing, implementing, and continuously improving project management frameworks and associated tools
Strong facilitation skills with a track record of delivering engaging training, workshops, and capability development programs
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple levels
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint
Ability to analyse complex issues, provide practical solutions, and drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes
