Responsibilities
General bookkeeping proficiency and entry of data into client reporting systems to maintain their accounting system. Including the following tasks but not limited to:
Sales functions and debtors’ reconciliation;
Payables functions and creditors reconciliation;
Payroll;
Bank reconciliation and month end processes;
Basic management reporting;
Assisting clients with payables management and management accounts;
Where relevant assisting in payment of creditors;
Liaising between the firm and the client and where relevant the client and their staff/suppliers for payroll or payment notifications;
Attending client sites where relevant to facilitate completion of work;
Preparing tax returns, financial statements, BAS and IAS statements for companies, sole traders, partnerships, trusts and self-managed superannuation funds and individuals
Liaising with auditors and other regulatory bodies regarding any tax obligations
Preparing self-managed superfund income tax returns and statements for audits
Engaging regularly with clients and responding to clients queries in person, via email and phone.
Keeping track of clients’ taxable income and ensuring all possible tax and GST claims
Correcting processing errors by adjusting journal entries
Preparing PAYG summaries, account reconciliations
General ledger maintenance and performing multiple reconciliations for management and financial accounting purposes
Proactively maintain and improve knowledge in relation to GST and FBT legislative changes; Dealing with ASIC and ATO statutory bodies as a client and firm liaison when required
Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures and complying with federal, state, and local financial and legal requirements
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities including reading professional publications
Accomplish accounting and organisation mission by completing related results as needed.
