FIAlab Instruments Australia is a growing, high-tech scientific instrumentation company based in North Sydney, NSW. We specialise in installing, servicing, and supporting advanced chemical analysis instruments for laboratories across Australia and New Zealand.
We are seeking a Sales & Service Engineer with at least 2 years of post-degree experience in an environmental, agricultural, or other relevant laboratory setting. Experience with laboratory instrumentation, wet chemistry, troubleshooting, or scientific equipment sales will be highly regarded.
About the Role
As a Sales & Service Engineer, you will play a dual role in both sales and technical support. You will guide customers through the process of learning and adopting FIAlab instrumentation—helping them identify solutions for their laboratories, supporting them after purchase, and ensuring smooth instrument operation. Training will be provided over the first year of employment to gradually build up the knowledge of our instruments.
Key Responsibilities
Drive sales of laboratory instrumentation to new and existing clients
Build and maintain strong customer relationships across the ANZ region
Educate prospective customers on FIAlab’s products and support onboarding/integration
Conduct product demonstrations (in-person and virtual)
Represent the company at industry conferences and exhibitions (travel required)
Provide troubleshooting and technical support to customers
Manage supplier and procurement portals
Oversee local inventory and coordinate shipping and logistics
Support internal administrative tasks and policy coordination
Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline (required)
Problem-solving ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to work across diverse client groups
Analytical mindset for understanding and supporting client applications
Time management and multitasking abilities to handle competing priorities
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Additional Information
Domestic travel: average 20% (up to 40% during peak periods)
