- Salary: $64,544 pa + super + 9-day fortnight

Maroondah City Council is seeking a civil engineering student with a great work ethic, desire to learn and an interest in civil engineering / asset management to join its Built Environment team for a 13-month work placement.
Maroondah City Council has an exciting opportunity for a student working towards their Civil Engineering degree to join its Built Environment team for a 13-month work placement. As a technical officer you will provide support to the Built Environment team, assisting with asset investigations, project delivery and data entry. During your placement you will be mentored and trained by the Built Environment team and exposed to a variety of technical and professional development opportunities.
You will:
- Carry out investigations into road and drainage infrastructure problems and prepare recommendations and correspondence as required
- Be involved in the management and programming of works for Councils annual supply contractors
- Provide general technical support to the Operations Team
- Provide support in the management and development of Council’s Asset related GIS layers
- Possess high-level of customer service, communication, and organisational skills.
- Have sound knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders (i.e. management and employees) and external stakeholders (i.e. general public) in achievement of team and organisational goals and objectives.
- Cooperate and comply with the requirements of all Maroondah City Council policies and procedures
- Actively support and promote Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) within the workplace
- Cooperate and comply with the requirements of all Maroondah City Council Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures and any actions taken by Council to comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 and other regulations
- Observe the application of the Council Risk Management Policy and Strategy
- Adhere to the requirements of Council’s Privacy Policy
