Casson Communities is currently looking for a Carer / Support Worker to join our small supportive team working with in our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes. We also provide care to individuals in the community so there may be opportunities to work across both settings depending on your experience and interests.
This is a rewarding role where you’ll be helping people living with mental health challenges, disabilities and aged care needs to live with dignity, purpose and independence.
About the Role
As a Carer / Support Worker, you’ll be an essential part of our team, providing person-centred support that promotes independence, dignity, and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide compassionate, respectful care in a home-like setting.
Assist with personal care tasks: toileting, showering, grooming, and dressing.
Support with meal preparation and light domestic duties.
Escort clients to appointments, social outings, and shopping.
Follow individualised care plans closely.
Work both independently and within a small support team.
Liaise professionally with families and representatives.
Promote dignity, choice, and the achievement of personal goals.
Be available for a variety of shifts, including active sleepover shifts.
Confident driving people in the community
To be successful in the is role, you will need:
Key Requirements
Previous experience as a Carer and or /Support Worker in mental health, disability or aged care
Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (or equivalent)
NDIS Worker Screening Check
First Aid Certificate
WA Driver’s Licence and access to a reliable, registered, fully insured vehicle
Full Comprehensive Car Insurance
Experience working in mental health, disability, or aged care
Unrestricted working hours & rights to work in Australia
Medication Management & Manual Handling Certificates
Clear and respectful communicator with excellent listening skills
Reliable, organised and punctual.
Shifts Available
Community support shifts range from 3 – 5 hours, Monday to Friday.
All shifts start at 9am, 12pm or 1pm.
Community support shift starts locations are North Perth, and the wider metropolitan area.
SIL Support – North Perth and South Guildford
Monday 2pm – 10pm
Tuesday 6am – 2pm
Wednesday 6am – 2pm
Friday 6am – 2pm
Saturday 6am – 2pm
Sunday 6am – 2pm
