About this role:
At Wellways, we're dedicated to supporting children and young people through high-quality out-of-home care services guided by Child Safety Principles. Our Youth Care Program provides safe, supportive and nurturing environments where young people can heal, grow and thrive.
We're looking for a Team Leader to join our passionate team. In this leadership role, you'll combine hands on support for young people with the opportunity to mentor and guide a team of Support Workers, shaping the future of trauma-informed care in your community.
- Supporting a small case load of young people through case management and coordination, making sure their care plans are met with compassion and consistency.
- Guiding and mentoring Youth Care Support Workers, helping them grow their skills and confidence.
- Creating and reviewing cultural and transitional plans that set young people up for their next steps in life.
- Leading by example by instilling a proactive, child-focused, trauma-informed culture across your team.
- Collaborating with the Department, families and community supports to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Participating in the after-hours on-call roster, providing stability and reassurance when it matters most.
About you:
You're a natural leader with a passion for developing and mentoring a team, and you have the ability to connect with young people while advocating for their needs. Highly organised, you can balance case management, team supervision and quality assurance all while demonstrating resilience, empathy and a commitment to continual learning and reflection.
What you need:
- Minimum Certificate 4 in a recognised area or must be actively working towards a qualification
- Driver's License
- Police clearance - less than 12 months old
- Blue Card and NDIS Workers Screening Check/Yellow Card
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- Completed Hope and Healing Framework Foundation Training - this will be supplied by Wellways if needed
- First Aid certificate
Desirable:
- Experience working with youth/trauma/complex needs
- Demonstrated Team Leadership skills
- Excellent administration skills
- Mental Health experience
