The role

We are seeking a driven and experienced Conference and Event Coordinator to join the dynamic hospitality team at The Benson Hotel in Cairns, Queensland. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for coordinating all catering and events operations to deliver seamless and memorable experiences for our guests.

Key responsibilities

Manage the planning and execution of corporate functions, weddings, and other special events

Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and translate them into successful event solutions

Coordinate event logistics, including menu planning, staffing, audiovisual, and décor

Ensure all events run smoothly and to budget by monitoring expenses and managing suppliers

Provide excellent customer service to clients throughout the event planning process

Contribute to the continuous improvement of our catering and events operations

Coordinate with the marketing team and assist with direction and necessary requirements.

What we're looking for

Experience in a catering or events coordinator role within the hospitality industry

A minimum of 1 years of experience in a catering or events coordinator role within the hospitality industry

Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service

Working knowledge of event planning software, such as event management platforms

Experience with any event management software platform is essential, with adaptability to learn new systems as required

Demonstrable experience in menu planning, budgeting, and supplier management

Passion for the hospitality industry and a commitment to creating unforgettable experiences for our guests
