Our client is a leading provider to the marine, mining & defence industry. As a result of ongoing and sustained growth, they are currently seeking an Operations Manager to assist their growing team based in the North-eastern suburbs of Perth.
The Role:
As the Operations / Production Manager, you'll play a hands-on leadership role and drive strategic improvement across the business. You will report to the General Manager and provide leadership and guidance to the Production / Warehouse Manager. Other responsibilities include:
- Oversee daily operations to optimise the utilisation of personnel, equipment, and resources in line with production and sales targets
- Foster a positive, safety-focused workplace culture, promoting teamwork and accountability at all levels
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to uphold quality standards, ensure customer satisfaction, and guide performance improvements
- Identify and implement process enhancements to streamline workflows and improve both customer and employee experiences
- Ensure all products and services meet relevant technical specifications, safety protocols, and quality benchmarks
- Lead the team by example in the warehouse and yard, often jumping in to help with warehousing procedures, order preparation and order splicing compliance checks
- Organise ongoing training and development programs to enhance team capabilities and drive continuous improvement as needed and identify HSE improvements needed in the business.
About You:
You’re a hands-on leader who brings a calm, people-first approach to operational management. You know how to connect the big picture with the details, balancing strategy and execution to keep things running smoothly. In addition, you will require possess the following:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an operational leadership capacity, (ideally within manufacturing and warehousing)
- Proven experience increasing company efficiency, improving internal processes and reducing costs
- Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to lead, inspire, and support high-performing teams while promoting a culture of safety, inclusion, and respect
- Demonstrated success in managing complex operations, including inventory, production planning, and vendor relationships (previous experience with marine, defence or mining clients advantageous)
- Unrestricted working rights
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol assessment
What’s in it for you?
Asides from working in a great environment with supportive management, you will be well remunerated with a salary circa $110,000 - $135,000 (depending on experience) + super.
