ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Bookings and Community Centres team are responsible for overseeing the day-to-day bookings and management of Council's community buildings, staffed community centres, sports fields and open space facilities. We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate person to join the Bookings and Community Centres team in providing high quality customer service to residents and user groups for Council's bookable community spaces, along with providing information to external and internal stakeholders regarding Council's facilities and assisting with the management of these spaces.
The position is responsible for the day to day booking management of the Council’s community building facilities, Council managed recreational facilities and other facilities as required. This role is also required to work out of and promote our staffed Community Centres and Bookable Spaces to the wider community, creating opportunities for increased utilisation.
The successful applicant will require:
- Relevant experience in a leadership role or related field
- Working with Children Check
- Current First Aid Certificate (or ability to obtain)
- Experience in the deliver of frontline service functions
- Demonstrated skills in community engagement and developing projects and partnerships
- Demonstrated experience in staff supervision
- Demonstrate problem solving and decision-making skills.

About this role:
- Permanent, full-time position
- 70 hour fortnight
- Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement
- This position is required to work across Council's staffed community centres and bookings administration team locations including Auburn, Berala, Guildford and Merrylands, and other locations as required.
Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 10 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,631.25 to $1,875.94 per week, plus 12% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role.
What you'll need to have for this role:
- The right to live and work in Australia
- Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position, including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
- Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Council’s Health Monitoring Procedure, as required
- Provide evidence of your vaccination status as part of the employment screening process, in accordance with Council’s COVID-19 Vaccination Procedure.
