Posted 5 days ago
Bank First was born by making a BOLD move. Now, we're on a mission to make more BOLD moves as we transform and grow.
We are proud to provide our community of educators and health-care workers with a bank that puts them first, because they put others first. We're committed to building a unique bank - one that’s different, sustainable, and centered around our Members.
Join us in breaking the mold and shaping the future of banking. We’re looking for innovative and creative minds ready to make a real impact.
So, what’s the role?
We’re excited to be looking for a new People Partner to join our high-performing People & Culture team. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow their career in HR, thrives on building trusted relationships, and is motivated to deliver meaningful outcomes for both leaders and employees.
As a People Partner, you’ll work closely with leaders across the business to bring our People & Culture strategy to life. You’ll adapt your approach to support both frontline and senior leaders, providing practical advice and guidance across the full employee lifecycle. With the backing of the People Partnering Lead and the wider team, you’ll also have the opportunity to design and deliver initiatives in areas such as wellbeing, recognition, diversity and inclusion, capability, and engagement.
This is a role where no two days will look the same. Some days you’ll be advising on performance, conduct or leave management matters, and on others you’ll be contributing to organisational change and transformation projects, embedding new ways of working, or providing insights from people data to inform better decisions. Most importantly, you’ll be a trusted partner to our leaders, helping them create environments where our people can thrive.
In a typical day, you will:
- Partner with leaders to understand their needs and provide tailored, pragmatic people advice.
- Support and deliver People & Culture programs and initiatives that make a real difference to our people.
- Lead organisational change activities, ensuring smooth transitions and clear communication.
- Utilise people data to identify trends and opportunities, and translate them into practical actions.
- Manage employee relations matters, with sound judgement on when to escalate more complex issues.
About you
You’ll bring HR generalist or business partnering experience, along with the confidence and adaptability to work with leaders at all levels. You’ll be collaborative, people-focused and solutions-driven, with the ability to simplify complexity and offer advice that is both practical and actionable.
Most importantly, you’ll be motivated by the chance to make a difference, eager to grow your career, and excited to contribute to a People & Culture team that values trust, innovation, and fun.
You will come equipped with:
- Experience in HR generalist or partnering roles, with strong relationship-building skills.
- Sound knowledge of Australian employment law and HR practice.
- Experience advising leaders across the employee lifecycle.
- Exposure to change initiatives and embedding people programs.
- Pragmatic problem-solving skills and a data-informed mindset.
- A tertiary qualification in HR, business, psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Why join us?
- For-purpose, a bank committed to helping its Members and their community.
- Impactful work that will genuinely make a difference to the lives of our Members!
- Work with values-driven leaders, who actively develop talent and support you to grow your career. In an environment that you are empowered to Be Bold. Be Different. Be Sustainable. Be YOU!
- Work-life balance and flexibility, so you can work in a way that best suits you and supports your commitments outside of work. Family friendly parental leave, and paid superannuation up to 52 weeks.
- Hybrid working from our state-of-the-art offices to connect and collaborate, as well as focused time at home.
- Competitive remuneration with an additional one week ‘Be You’ leave, ‘Be Well’ wellbeing benefit, #BFF Club home loan offer and free on-site parking!
