At embarc, our employment teams work alongside people with disability as they explore what’s possible through meaningful, inclusive employment. As an Employment Mentor, you would bring your compassion and industry knowledge to support and empower people with disability to achieve their employment goals.
We are searching for Employment Mentor’s to join our team based in the Bayside Employment Service Area on a permanent basis in a full-time capacity (part time to be considered for the right candidate). This role is exciting, challenging and inclusive where together we aspire to better the lives of the people we serve. Our offices will be based across Dandenong, Cheltenham, Oakleigh, Moorabbin and South Yarra.
About the Opportunity:
The Employment Mentor will work within a team of experienced professionals in our Bayside region assisting individuals with disability through tailored support services to secure long-term employment opportunities. We pride ourselves on personalised, one-on-one engagements with participants, providing a person-centred approach to help them find meaningful employment in an ever-changing job market.
This is a very rewarding opportunity for someone who is energetic, enthusiastic and customer focused to ensure they build rapport and meaningful relationships with participants. Our aim is to lift people up and support them with employment opportunities, their wellbeing and independence.
Through career guidance, skill assessments, and connecting participants with employment opportunities, you will also:
- Motivate and engage participants in their employment journey.
- Establish relationships with local employers to identify job prospects.
- Place participants into sustainable employment with positive outcomes.
- Ensure proper documentation and recording of all activities, adhering to compliance and contractual requirements.
- Delivering exceptional service at every stage of the process to participants, employers, and other stakeholders.
- Provide Post Placement Support by providing continuous support and education for both participants and employers.
- Collaborate with a dynamic, goal-orientated team of employment services professionals from diverse backgrounds, you will contribute to making an impact in the diversity and inclusion space.
About You:
- Experience in supporting people with disability, understanding the importance of lived experience and person-centred support.
- A natural communication style with attentive listening skills
- Energised by supporting people to achieve their goals.
- Working collaboratively within a diverse team.
- High level of interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Competence utilising a range of technical platforms/systems.
- Goal-focused and able to seek solutions.
- Awareness of the vulnerabilities during job searching and the effects of unemployment.
- Have or a willingness to obtain NDIS Worker Check and Working with Children Check.
- Valid Driver Licence.
