About the role

Whelan Kartaway is seeking an experienced Regional Manager to oversee our operations in the Gold Coast region. Whelan Kartway is a long-term player in the waste industry with operations over three states. As a key member of QLD leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the strategic direction and day-to-day management of our Gold Coast branch, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional service to our valued customers. This is a full-time position based in Carrara, QLD.

This role is an exciting combination of sales and management working with the broader sales team to build the business as well as operational management.

What you'll be doing

Developing and implementing business plans to achieve revenue, profitability and growth targets for the Gold Coast branch

Overseeing all operational aspects of the branch, including inventory management, staffing, budgeting and reporting

Fostering a positive, collaborative work culture and leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team

Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers

Building a sales pipeline

Identifying and capitalizing on new business opportunities to expand the branch's customer base and service offering

Ensuring compliance with all relevant legal, safety and quality standards

What we're looking for

Significant experience (5+ years) in a senior management role, ideally within the transport, logistics or warehousing industry. Waste industry experience is a plus!

A proven track record of successfully leading, motivating and developing high-performing teams

Strong Sales performance

Strong commercial acumen and business management skills, with the ability to develop and execute effective strategies

Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills

Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, management or a related field
