HR Business Partner – Full Time
2-year Fixed Term Contract (With the possibility of extension)
We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our client Aboriginal Health Council of SA (AHCSA) in supporting the HR Manager with professionalism, empathy, and cultural awareness. This role will be responsible for building trusted partnerships, supporting workforce development and supporting the HR Manager deliver culturally safe and lawful HR practices that align with AHCSA’s vision of supporting Aboriginal community-controlled health services and improving health outcomes for Aboriginal people in South Australia.

What we’re looking for in our HR Business Partner
Qualifications & Expertise – A tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management Postgraduate qualifications in HR, Employment Relations, or Organisational Development will be highly regarded.
Comprehensive HR Experience – Demonstrated experience across the full spectrum of HR, including:
End-to-end recruitment and onboarding
Employee relations, performance management, and development
HR policies, systems, and process improvement
Confident interpretation and application of EBAs, Modern Awards, and Fair Work legislation
Sound knowledge of best-practice HR frameworks and contemporary HR issues
Cultural Competence – An understanding of, and commitment to, working in a culturally safe and respectful way with Aboriginal people, communities, and organisations. Previous experience working in Aboriginal health or community services will be highly regarded.
Communication & Influence – Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships, influence decision-making, and provide high-level HR advice to senior leaders.
Flexibility & Commitment – Willingness and ability to travel both intra-state and interstate (including overnight absences) and undertake occasional out-of-hours work to support the needs of the organisation.
Integrity & Compliance – A current National Police Certificate (or ability to obtain one) is required. A current Working with Children Check, and a valid Driver’s Licence are also required.
Technology Skills – Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with HRIS systems to support data-driven HR practice.
Team & Leadership – Ability to work collaboratively within a small team, while also being self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently.
