About the Role:

Therapy Assistant – Adult Services
Support, Empower & Make a Difference

We’re seeking a motivated and compassionate Therapy Assistant to join our Therapy Services team. In this role, you’ll provide both hands-on therapy support and essential administrative assistance to our allied health professionals, working primarily with adults across homes, the VisAbility gym and community settings.

This is a 9-month fixed term contract from October 2025 to June 2026, working Tuesdays 8am to 4pm.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Therapy Assistant, you will:

  • Deliver interventions under the direction and supervision of allied health professionals in client’s homes, at the VisAbility gym and in the community.
  • Support individual and group exercise programs led by an Exercise Physiologist.
  • Prepare for and tidy up after activities, ensuring safe and smooth operations.
  • Maintain accurate client records in our Client Management System.
  • Assist with producing resources including researching options, printing, laminating and cleaning equipment.
  • Contribute to process improvements and take on other duties as directed by your Team Leader or Manager.

Essential Skills and Attributes:

You will bring a positive attitude, strong teamwork skills, and a genuine passion for supporting people with vision impairments or vision loss. To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

  • Previous experience in the disability sector or not-for-profit environment.
  • Experience working in a gym setting.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time and stress effectively.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to work collaboratively within a small team.
  • Professionalism, confidentiality and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence in communicating with a diverse range of people.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sound administration skills.
