Our Federal Government client is seeking an EL1 HR Manager- WHS and Wellbeing for a temporary transfer or 12-month non-ongoing opportunity with possibility for extension/ permanency.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and solutions focused HR practitioner with policy development, WHS and Wellbeing strategy experience.
Our ideal candidate will be senior HR practitioners with experience in providing operational and strategic advice related to industrial relations, work health and safety (WHS), wellbeing and human resources policies.
You will also have expertise in dealing with sensitive and complex people matters.
You will demonstrate the highest ethical standards and integrity in all that you do.
You will have the knowledge and ability to apply relevant legislation and policy to deliver high quality outcomes.
Sound analytical and judgement capabilities are essential, and you will use them to contribute to the strategic direction of the People and Culture Branch.
You will be experienced in leading teams with a focus on mentoring and development.
You will lead with a positive, inclusive attitude with a desire to make work fun for yourself, your team and your colleagues.
You are client-focused and have excellent relationship management skills, applying good judgement and compassion to sensitive and complex matters at all levels of the Agency.
Your highly developed organisational skills, sound oral and written communication skills, ability to prioritise and excellent attention to detail will ensure you can operate in their fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
The successful applicant will demonstrate high level communication and organisational skills, an effective ability to work both independently and collaboratively within and across teams, an ability to set work priorities and excellent time and people management skills.
Primary outcomes and accountabilities:
In addition to meeting the Integrated Leadership System profile of the EL 1 level, primary outcomes and accountabilities will involve:
- Working together with the Director, provide leadership and support, with a focus on continuous improvement and development, to the WHS and Wellbeing team.
- Manage, deliver and provide expert, solutions-focused, legislatively compliant and contemporary HR advice relating to work health and safety (WHS), including rehabilitation and case management and workplace relations.
- Develop, and/or lead the implementation of new WHS and Wellbeing strategies, policies, processes and systems.
- Provide expert, evidence based, legislatively compliant, and accurate advice and reports to the Senior Executive.
- Undertake project work to develop people-related initiatives and supporting guidance materials for employees and managers.
- Lead, coach and mentor a team.
- Providing consistent, accurate and timely advice and support on complex WHS, case and wellbeing matters.
- Overseeing the development and delivery of HR related programs including the Agencies WHS and wellbeing strategy/plan.
- Chairing the Agencies Committees, including the National Health and Safety Committee and various WHS and wellbeing forums.
Qualifications:
Qualifications in WHS/ Human Resources and/or other relevant qualifications, highly desirable.
Previous experience in similar roles with two or more years’ experience, highly desirable.
Essential Requirements:
The successful applicant will need to be an Australian Citizen.
The successful candidate will need to have the Ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected) security clearance or hold a current security clearance of an appropriate level.
Ability to obtain and maintain a national police check.
