Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect specialising in VMware technologies to lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale virtualisation and cloud solutions. This role will focus on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) architecture, governance and integration, ensuring solutions are secure, resilient and aligned with business objectives. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, technical teams and vendors to define strategy, guide implementation and ensure best practice adoption across complex environments.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and design of VMware-based enterprise solutions, with a focus on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)
• Define and maintain enterprise architecture standards, patterns and governance for VMware platforms
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align technology roadmaps with organisational strategy
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to solution architects and engineering teams
• Oversee the integration of VMware solutions with hybrid and multi-cloud environments
• Conduct architecture reviews and ensure compliance with security, performance and scalability requirements
• Engage with vendors and partners to evaluate emerging VMware technologies and recommend adoption strategies
• Develop high-level and low-level design documentation, reference architectures and implementation guidelines
• Support pre-sales and proposal activities with architectural input and solution design expertise

Education/Certifications Required

• VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP) - Preferred
• VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) - Highly desirable
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science or related discipline

Knowledge/Skills Required

• Proven experience as an Enterprise Architect or Senior Solution Architect specialising in VMware technologies
• Deep expertise in VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) architecture and deployment
• Strong understanding of virtualisation, storage, networking and security in VMware environments
• Experience integrating VMware solutions with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels
• Strong documentation skills, including the creation of HLDs, LLDs and reference architectures
• Ability to operate in secure, complex and large-scale enterprise environments
