Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate Regional Community Development Officer to play a key role in supporting community organisations, with a particular focus on sporting clubs and local initiatives. This role involves working closely with grassroots sports organisations, leagues, and associations to implement evidence-based programs that promote wellbeing and reduce harm. If you are a confident facilitator with a strong background in community engagement and sports-based development, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a regional team to deliver AOD prevention programs effectively and in line with state and national priorities

Build and maintain partnerships with local government, community organisations, health services, and sporting bodies

Oversee planning, monitoring, and reporting of program outcomes

Support staff recruitment, professional development, and performance management

Represent programs at events, forums, and community workshops

What we're looking for:

Degree qualification in health promotion, community development, social sciences, or a related field

Experience leading and delivering community-based health or prevention programs

Strong skills in stakeholder engagement, partnerships, and community consultation

Proven ability to manage teams, set priorities, and achieve program outcomes

Excellent communication, presentation, and networking skills

Willingness to travel within ACT and occasionally interstate
