Details: The Director, Next Steps is responsible for a variety of tasks. This includes providing high quality secretariat support to a wide variety of meetings including operational committees and high-level councils. The Director is also responsible for the coordination of information gathering and liaising across the directorate and other directorates to source this information. Skilled engagement and communication are essential to be successful in the role along with the ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders in a trauma informed and culturally sensitive manner.
The Director will be required to manage a variety of projects aligned with the implementation of the Next Steps Strategy.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications and / or experience relevant to the role. Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Education or an allied health position are desirable but not essential.
- Experience and/or a desire to work in a community services environment is essential.
- Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.
- Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable People registration refer to - Apply for or renew a WWVP registration - Access Canberra (act.gov.au)
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of up to two years with the possibility of permanency.
A merit pool or merit list may be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
