Support Workers Needed – Abbotsford

We’re looking for a dedicated Support Worker to join our SIL team in Abbotsford, providing one-on-one support to a participant living with an acquired brain injury.

This role is part of a 24/7 roster, which includes inactive overnight shifts. It’s a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life while being part of a supportive and collaborative team environment.

About the Role

You’ll be providing tailored support both at home and in the community. Each day is different, from assisting with routines, meals, and medication prompting/administration to helping manage emotions, encouraging healthy choices, and keeping the participant engaged and safe. Consistent supervision and reassurance are key parts of this role, as well as following the Behaviour Support Plan to ensure care is delivered respectfully and effectively.

What You’ll Do

As a Support Worker in our SIL home, you will:

Support the participant with daily routines, including meal preparation and household tasks.

Provide prompts for medication and other health-related needs.

Supervise at all times to ensure the participant’s safety both at home and in the community.

Redirect and reassure the participant when they feel distressed or confused.

Encourage independence, social engagement, and overall wellbeing.

Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with the SIL team to ensure consistent, high-quality support.

What We’re Looking For

Experience in disability or community support (ABI or behaviours of concern highly regarded)

A calm, reliable, and patient approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Comfortable using mobile apps for reporting

Current Australian driver’s licence and reliable vehicle

Essential Requirements

First Aid and CPR

NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
