Job Title: Data Engineer / Python Developer

About the Role We’re looking for a motivated Data Engineer who enjoys solving problems and building practical, scalable data solutions. This role will involve designing and maintaining data pipelines, developing APIs, and improving system performance to keep data flowing smoothly across different platforms. You’ll work closely with a supportive team on projects that make a real impact, using modern tools and technologies along the way.
Responsibilities

• Build and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Write clean, efficient Python code for data processing and APIs.
• Improve the reliability, performance and scalability of existing systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues before they become problems.
• Manage and optimise databases and storage solutions.
• Work with other teams to understand requirements and deliver practical solutions.

Skills & Experience

• Strong Python development experience with sound software engineering practices.
• Background in building REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Comfortable working in Linux environments.
• Hands-on experience with Docker or other container tools.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Good communicator and team player.
• Self-driven with the ability to pick up new tools and technologies quickly.

Desirable

• Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Mage.ai.
• Knowledge of data streaming tools (Kafka, Druid, Flink).
• Experience with big data frameworks like Spark or Flink.
• Understanding of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
• Exposure to Kubernetes or other orchestration platforms.
• Interest or experience in AI/ML technologies.
