Duties

Greet and serve customers in a courteous, professional and efficient manner

Provide information on beverage selections, specials and promotions

Handle customer queries and complaints in line with venue policies

Prepare, mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to standard recipes

Monitor customer consumption and apply RSA principles, including refusing service when required

Accurately measure and serve drinks

Ensure compliance with liquor licensing legislation, RSA laws and venue-specific policies

Monitor patrons’ behaviour and intervene where necessary to maintain a safe environment

Check identification to confirm legal age requirements

Operate point-of-sale systems and process transactions accurately

Reconcile cash and sales at the end of shifts

Maintain cleanliness of the bar, glassware and equipment in accordance with workplace health and safety standards

Restock and rotate beverages and consumables as required

Report stock shortages, discrepancies, or maintenance issues

Follow food safety and hygiene regulations where applicable

Requirements

Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) or willingness to obtain same

Relevant qualifications in Hospitality or a related field would be highly regarded, but are not essential

Minimum one year of experience as a bartender / bar attendant

Strong knowledge of drink recipes, mixing techniques and presentation standards

Excellent customer service and communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while remaining calm under pressure

Friendly, energetic, positive, and outgoing personality

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Understanding of workplace health and safety regulations for food and beverage service

Physical ability to:

Stand for extended periods

Lift and carry moderately heavy trays with glassware and beverages

Bend, stoop, and reach as needed
