My client is an established and well-known business within the software and engineering services industry. They are an authorised reseller of Dassault Systemes and offer multidisciplinary engineering services, particularly within aerospace, aviation, and defence sectors. Due to continued growth, they are looking to add a Finance and Business Operations Officer to their Victorian team.
The Finance and Business Operations Officer is responsible for preparing financial statements, maintaining cash controls, preparing the payroll, purchasing, maintaining accounts payable and managing office administrative operations. The role also includes the management of operational budgets and accurate maintenance of financial records relating to the general ledger, payroll, taxation requirements, accounts payable/receivables and procurement.
The role will have the following responsibilities;
- Establish and implement financial policies and procedures in line with organisational requirements.
- Ensure that business activities are compliant with legal, regulatory requirements and standards across the organisation.
- Manage procurement, accounts payables/receivables.
- Cash flow management and forecasting.
- Manage administrative tasks as well as facilities to ensure efficient and consistent operations.
- Responsible in providing direction to employees regarding corporate tools, software, internal systems, policies and procedures.
- Performs the day-to-day processing of financial transactions to ensure these are maintained accurately and kept up to date.
- Manage the fortnightly payroll, superannuation, taxes and reconciliations as required in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Generate and issue financial reporting as required.
Qualifications and Experience required;
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- Proven experience in payroll management, procurement and accounts payable/receivables.
- Experience with preparation of financial reports, financial analysis and forecasting.
- Ability to work to deadlines and demonstrate effective time management skills.
- Good knowledge of legislative requirements and tax regulations.
- Excelling organisational skills, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Policy and procedure development specifically around Quality Management Systems.
