About the role
As a Field Officer, you’ll support the day-to-day operations of the Three Capes Track and Fortescue Bay. Reporting to the Ranger in Charge, you’ll:
- Maintain minor construction of infrastructure, buildings and equipment.
- Supervise and support employees and volunteers in operational tasks.
- Operate and maintain machinery, plant, and equipment safely.
- Assist visitors with information, advice, and safety guidance.
- Work and stay on track for extended periods of up to 10 days.
- Undertake fire operations, risk management, and enforcement of park regulations.
The role involves regular outdoor work, remote locations, and rostered overnight stays at track accommodation nodes.
Our ideal candidate has
- Experience in construction and maintenance of buildings, infrastructure or recreation facilities.
- Skills in the safe use and maintenance of machinery, plant and equipment.
- Knowledge of WHS requirements, fire operations, and risk management
- Strong teamwork, communication, and organisational skills.
- A current driver’s licence, First Aid qualification, and ability to meet the Arduous fitness test.
