About the role

We are seeking a diverse group of trades to join our drill maintenance team at Peabody’s Wilpinjong project in the NSW coalfields.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in maintaining a safe work environment and seamless operations through the servicing, maintenance and major repairs of all drilling and support equipment, including:

Attending emergency breakdowns

Diagnostic fault finding on mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and compressor air systems

Performing major repairs and servicing of all drilling and support equipment

Ensuring equipment is maintained safely and timely to minimise cost and increase productivity

Undertaking necessary risk and pre-task assessments

Effectively managing documentation and reporting as per client and company requirements

About you

To be successful in this position, you’ll have the following skills and experience:

Essential

Trade qualification – plant/heavy diesel mechanic, auto electrician and/or boilermaker. Dual trade will be highly valued.

Thorough understanding of hydraulic, compressed air and electrical schematics and proven fault-finding skills

Valid current drivers licence

Ability to always adhere to strict safety standards and protocols

Sound customer relations skills and be able to work unsupervised

Two valid working references

Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screen and pre-employment medical

Desirable

Local to Mudgee area is preferred, however relocation allowance is available for the right candidate

Field experience on surface drill rigs (onsite training of systems will be offered to develop skill sets)

Work at heights, vehicle loading crane and forklift ticket/RII are preferred
