About the Role:
The Division of Surgery is responsible for delivering inpatient and outpatients surgical services The Division includes Surgical Bookings and Pre-Admission Clinic, Anaesthesia, Pain Management Unit, Operating Theatres, Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit, Day Surgery Unit, Admissions, Day Procedure Unit, Endoscopy, and specialist surgical ward areas.
The Perioperative Suite at North Canberra Hospital consists of a Day Surgery Unit, Surgical Admission Lounge (SAL), 7 Operating Theatres, and a procedure room, covering a wide range of surgical specialities, and a Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU).
Our Specialties include Orthopaedics, Obstetrics, Gynaecological, ENT, Head and Neck, Plastics, Minor Vascular, General Surgery, Urology, Ophthalmic and Maxillofacial Surgery. The North Canberra Hospital, Operating Suites service surgical procedures within the area, including referrals from surrounding regions. Our nurses are dynamic skilled professionals who are responsible for the provision of patient centred evidence-based nursing care for every patient. Our nursing teamwork within a multidisciplinary healthcare team supported by the Perioperative Education Team, Clinical Nurse Consultants and the ADON.
A Registered Nurse with advanced nursing practice skills is required to provide a high level of support consistently and competently to perioperative staff and patients within North Canberra Hospital and Canberra Health Services.
The Floor coordinator role reports directly to the Scrub/Scout Clinical Nurse Consultant and joins the nursing leadership team. This position is responsible for facilitating the day-to-day patient flow throughout the perioperative suite, in collaboration with the Perioperative suite management team, while supporting the wider multidisciplinary team to provide evidence-based nursing care to perioperative patients.
