Job Title: Support Worker

Job Description:

To support individuals in achieving independence, improving their quality of life, and meeting personal goals. This includes assistance with daily living activities, promoting choice and dignity, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Personal Care: Assist with hygiene, dressing, toileting, and mobility as needed.

Daily Living Support: Help with tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping.

Health & Wellbeing: Support with medication, attending medical appointments, and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Emotional Support: Offer companionship, build positive relationships, and support emotional wellbeing.

Community Engagement: Encourage participation in social, educational, and recreational activities.

Documentation: Keep accurate records of care provided, incidents, and progress notes.

Safeguarding: Follow safeguarding policies to protect individuals from abuse or harm.

Essential Skills & Qualities:

Compassionate, patient, and empathetic

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Reliable and able to work independently

Respectful of confidentiality and diversity

Qualifications & Experience:

Certificate III of individual support.

Experience supporting vulnerable individuals.

Working Conditions:

May involve shift work, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Work may take place in care homes, supported living, or clients’ homes.
