The Opportunity
The Australian Childhood Foundation is on the lookout for a proactive and people-focused Human Resources Advisor to join our team on a 6-month contract, working Tuesday to Friday (3.5 to 4 days per week, negotiable) in a hybrid capacity-with Tuesdays in-office and flexibility across the rest of the week.
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Human Resources, this role is all about making meaningful contributions across the organisation. You'll provide thoughtful HR advice and support, leaders and staff, and help shape a positive workplace culture. You will play a vital role in supporting major HR projects, coordinating performance reviews and energising workshops. Recruitment and onboarding? You've got it covered! Crafting position descriptions, joining interview panels, and welcoming new hires with flair, jumping in to see where the help is needed. You will also be involved in the Safety and wellbeing of our employees, looking at reports, ensuring organisation compliance, and supporting staff through EAP.
Plus, you'll keep our systems sharp and our data insightful with top-notch reporting, all while championing our values, our HR Brand and contributing to a child-safe, purpose-driven culture and be at the heart of our people operations.

In order for you to succeed, you will need (Key Selection Criteria):
- Degree qualification in HR Management.
- Minimum 4 years generalist HR experience, including at least 1 year as an HR Advisor.
- Strong understanding of employment legislation and contemporary HR practices.
- Experience in WHS legislation and implementation.
- Proven ability to engage across all levels of the organisation.
- Demonstrated ability to develop HR policies, processes, and systems.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and a learning culture.
- Current Victorian driver's licence and Working with Children Check.
- Personal values aligned with the mission of the Australian Childhood Foundation.
