Mental Health Social Worker – Veteran-Focused Role
Brisbane | Hybrid | Full Time | $100,000 – $110,000 + super

The Role

We’re seeking an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) to join a dedicated allied health network supporting veterans across Australia. In this role, you will:

Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and develop tailored care plans.

Provide therapeutic interventions, psychoeducation, and short-term psychological strategies.

Coordinate intake, triage, and referrals across the allied health system.

Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care.

Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver skilled therapeutic support for a range of psychosocial and mental health issues.

Build strong therapeutic relationships to foster engagement and trust.

Contribute to treatment planning, case conferencing, and integrated care pathways.

Support innovation in service delivery and continuous improvement.

Participate in supervision, reflective practice, and professional development.

Provide mentoring and student supervision opportunities where appropriate.

About You

You are an experienced, compassionate social worker who brings both professional expertise and genuine empathy to your practice. You’ll have:

Current accreditation as an AMHSW with the AASW.

Demonstrated experience working with veterans or clients with complex trauma.

Strong knowledge of psychosocial interventions and recovery-oriented practice.

Excellent communication, care coordination, and clinical documentation skills.

Ability to work flexibly across telehealth and face-to-face settings.

Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice.
