About the role

As a Retail Reception Officer with the Parks and Wildlife Service, you’ll be the first point of contact for visitors at Cradle Mountain. You’ll play a key role in welcoming guests, supporting retail sales, and promoting the natural and cultural values of Tasmania’s national parks.

Core duties include:

• Provide excellent customer service and visitor advice.
• Conduct sales, cash handling, and shop operations.
• Support inventory management and stock replenishment.
• Promote Leave No Trace principles and safe park use.
• Assist with emergencies, including First Aid and incident reporting.

• Demonstrate experience in customer service or retail sales with cash handling.
• Work effectively in busy, high visitation environments.
• Support inventory management and stock control processes.
• Ability to communicate clearly and contribute positively as part of a team.
• The knowledge to follow clear instructions and procedures with accuracy.
