We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic KinderGym Gymnastics Coach to join our team and deliver our junior program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with preschool-aged children (ages 1-5) in a gymnastics environment. This coach will be responsible for creating a fun, safe, and positive atmosphere where children can learn and develop basic gymnastics skills while fostering a love for movement and physical activity.

The program currently runs Monday to Sunday (excluding Saturday).

Anticipated work hours are between 9.00am – 3pm on weekdays.

Additional coaching hours within the School-age recreational gymnastics program may also be available.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Deliver structured kindergym classes focusing on basic movement, coordination, balance, and flexibility.

Create a positive and safe environment for participation.

Lead warm-up and cool-down exercises for safety.

Use creative methods to develop fine and gross motor skills.

Adapt activities to individual needs and abilities.

Ensure equipment is safe and age-appropriate.

Supervise children to ensure safety and well-being.

Communicate with parents about their child's progress.

Foster relationships to encourage teamwork and cooperation.

Maintain a clean, organized activity space.

Attend training sessions to stay updated on best practices.

Care for Gymnasts

Supervise gymnasts at all times.

Maintain a safe environment by checking equipment, cleaning spills quickly, and enforcing a no-bullying policy.

Record and address injuries, notifying parents and the Gym Manager as needed.

Manage hygiene issues as they occur.

Discuss each child's progress and concerns with parents.

Be a positive role model for gymnasts.

Motivate and provide emotional support to gymnasts.

Ensure gymnasts are both learning and enjoying their lessons.

Conducting Classes

Arrive at least 10 minutes early before each shift.

Greet each gymnast by name as they enter.

Start and finish classes on time.

Ensure all gymnasts exit the facility after class.

Inform the Kinder Coordinator or Gym Manager of any behavioural issues for conflict resolution.

Set up and Pack up/ Safe Environment

Ensure that the gym space is set up in accordance with the lesson plan.

Continue safety checks of all matting areas during lessons.

Ensure that all equipment and resources are cleaned up and properly packed away at the end of each session.

Administration

Complete attendance records at the start of each class.

Stay informed about gymnasts' medical or health conditions.

Communicate with the Kinder Coordinator on gymnasts, classes, and concerns.

Attend required meetings and workshops.

Enforce Employee Handbook policies and procedures.

Maintain current qualifications through relevant seminars/workshops.

Basic IT skills (e.g., email, messaging, iPad).

Customer Service

Meet and greet all visitors/parents/carers/staff in a warm and friendly manner, and assist with enquiries, directions and requests in a courteous and timely manner.

Maintain a sound knowledge of the BRC services to provide correct information to visitors.

If unable to provide correct information, refer the enquirer to contact the Kinder Co-ordinator or Gym Manager via email or telephone.

Walking/standing – Constant

Sitting – interacting with members, facilitating activities – Constant

Squatting/bending/kneeling - Constant

Lifting/carrying up to 10kg – Constant

Spotting (as qualified) – Intermittent

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: At least 2 years of previous experience working with children aged 1-5 in a KinderGym program.

Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to engage with young children in a positive, supportive manner.

Certifications: CPR and First Aid certification. Intermediate Kindergym certification or above.

Physical Requirements: Ability to demonstrate basic gymnastics skills, including stretching, tumbling, and balance work.

Personality: Patient, enthusiastic, and compassionate, with a genuine interest in nurturing young children’s physical and emotional development.

Additional: Hold and maintain a Working with Children/ Hold right to work in Australia
