Our client provides a comprehensive logistical solutions to a wide range of customers all around the globe. They are currently seeking an experienced freight operator to provide end-to-end ocean freight logistics services to a mix of small to medium customers.

Their head office is based in Brisbane, as well as branches across Australia and partnerships globally that form their global network.

Currently, they are seeking a self-managed and experienced Ocean Freight / Customer Service Professional to join their Operations team in Tullamarine.

Your primary responsibility is to oversee all sea cargo movements and manage a diverse portfolio of customers from bookings to delivery.

With offerings in forwarding and national contract logistics solutions, as well as plans to expand and establish new warehouse facilities nationally, this is an excellent time to join this successful Australian-owned forwarder.

As an Operator, your responsibilities will include:

Handling day-to-day sea freight shipments including FCL and LCL and FAK's

Managing a customer base and addressing their inquiries on a regular basis.

Implementing best practices and generating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) aligned with customer Key Indicators (KPIs) and expectations.

Assisting the sales department in invoicing, costing, and implementing new business initiatives.

Communicating and providing instructions and cooperating with other members of the team to supports a harmonious team environment.

To be considered for this role, you should demonstrate:

A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a similar position with a local freight forwarder.

Proficiency in using Cargowise is highly advantageous.

Experience in managing customer expectations and communicating with external stakeholders ie. agents, other carriers
