Reporting to the Director, Facility Management of this large educational institution, you will develop, implement and manage strategies to ensure the physical security of assets and achieve an environment that fosters the physical wellbeing and psychological safety of students, staff, guests, contractors and members of the community visiting the campus. This includes ensuring that statutory emergency procedures are in place and the security response is well-rehearsed and effective. You will utilise your superior strategic and policy development skills to review existing procedures, complete risk assessment and provide policy leadership across the whole organisation. You will develop a risk-based deployment strategy and categorisation plan to drive improvement to the organisation's security, ensuring compliance with current and changing legislation. These challenges will be concurrent with managing the existing programs, emergency response, crisis management, physical security, incident management and investigation.

You will:

• Develop and deliver a professional, visible and customer-orientated security service, ensuring the delivery of a quality, safe and secure environment

• Support and deliver the strategic management of security related risks through the development and implementation of a Campus Security Plan.

• Lead security aspects of the Crisis and Recovery Management, Emergency Management and Business Continuity Plans and ensure organisational preparedness

• Manage the delivery of the security contract, conducting regular reviews and reporting, ensuring contract security staff are meeting expectations and KPI's

• Work with the security contractors to deliver ongoing service improvement initiatives.

• Develop and implement protocols and strategies to manage and mitigate campus-based incidents, including the development, implementation and management of a security incident and investigations database

• Develop and implement a security technology Master Plan completing ongoing reviews of standards and legislation for the development and enhancement of security technology.

You will have:

• Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in security contract management and integrated security technology solutions within complex, diverse, large-scale security environments

• Extensive knowledge and high-level experience managing all aspects of policing and security

• Demonstrated experience in providing strategic and operational advice and integrating this into operational procedures and policies.

• Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills, with proven ability to adapt to new situations and develop highly creative solutions to complex problems.

• Hold all relevant Security Industry licence(s) including the ability to act in the position of Nominated Person on the Master Security Licence.

• Knowledge of Gallagher security software, Cello Park and V Permit software desirable
