Your next career opportunity
As a Senior Project Officer at the Peter Doherty Institute, you'll have the opportunity to manage Australia's national genomics surveillance program, AusTrakka. You'll coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, engage with stakeholders across the country, and contribute to shaping public health responses to infectious diseases. This role offers you the chance to make a significant impact on national health policy while working at the forefront of pathogen genomics.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Manage Program Delivery: Oversee AusTrakka's work program, outputs, and deliverables, including engagement strategies and reporting.
- Develop Governance Frameworks: Create and implement program policies, security measures, and standard operating procedures.
- Coordinate Technical Teams: Lead diverse groups in delivering Australia's national genomics surveillance requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong networks with partners locally, nationally, and internationally.
You may be a great fit if:
You are a highly organised and self-motivated professional with a postgraduate qualification in management or public health, possessing extensive experience in public health data systems and the ability to lead cross-sectoral consultations.
You may also:
- Have a postgraduate qualification in management, public health, or a related field.
- Possess extensive knowledge of public health data systems, policy, and governance.
- Demonstrate strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excel in time management and thrive in fast-paced environments.
- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Show proficiency in Microsoft Office and attention to detail in documentation.
