About the role:

Service Delivery Transformation Command (SDTC) is a specialist area within Victoria Police that works across the organisation to design, develop and implement a new service delivery model and operating model that will better enable Victoria Police to serve the community by:

  • improving outcomes for victims,
  • releasing resources to increase presence and visibility of frontline police,
  • better manage demand and reduce the duplication of effort,
  • making best use of information, diverse expertise and technology,
  • partnering with the appropriate range of key stakeholders, and
  • integrating more effectively with the wider service sector.

SDTC is seeking a collaborative and proactive project management specialist for the role of Senior Project Officer. This role is a Senior Project Officer role that will provide project management, change management and communications advice to stakeholders on options to support the objectives of the Service Delivery Transformation Program of Works. Part of a team responsible for implementing strategic transformational projects for Victoria Police, the Senior Project Officer position will work collaboratively with stakeholders and provide quality, concise and timely outputs, including business cases, reports, briefs and correspondence on trends, options, risks and opportunities associated with reform options relevant to Victoria Police's service delivery.

This position will require superior communication skills, including the ability to tailor complex, written content for different audiences and the proven ability to establish and sustain effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders. This position will require a strong understanding of the Victoria Police policy landscape, the ability to identify different options for reform and a demonstrated understanding of relevant legislation, policies, public sector issues and procedures in a complex environment.

Your duties will include:

  • Assisting the Project Lead Inspector with strategic project management, change management and associated outputs.
  • Leading provision of expert project management and transformation outputs (such as reports, briefing papers, business cases, options papers) to inform and support decision making.
  • Identifying and actively managing emerging opportunities, issues and risks.
  • Working collaboratively with and providing advice to stakeholders within Victoria Police.

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Experience in all aspects of project and change management.
  • Experience developing and coordinating strategic project outputs, including business cases, reports, options papers.
  • Understanding of legislation, policies, public sector issues and procedures relevant to Victoria Police.
  • Superior communication skills (strong writing skills and highly developed interpersonal skills).
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to self-motivate.
  • Strong integrity and discretion.

Requirements and relevant information:

  • One (1) x full-time, fixed to 30 June 2026 position available.
  • This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
