About the Positions
Join the Delivery and Engagement Group in the Emergency Management Branch as an Assistant Analyst, Policy.
In this role, you will undertake detailed research and policy analysis to support the NSW Government's strategic priorities in emergency management. You'll contribute to the development of policy settings, assess proposals and Cabinet submissions, and help provide high-quality advice on the feasibility of key initiatives. Your work will support the effective coordination of emergency management efforts and service delivery reforms across government.
You'll collaborate closely with internal teams, public sector agencies, and key stakeholders to inform decision-making and ensure timely, well-founded advice is delivered to senior executives. You'll also provide administrative and project support to enable the smooth operation of the branch's strategic initiatives.

About the Team
We are a collaborative team who enjoys working on challenging government priorities in the emergency management sector, including:
- Providing whole of government emergency management strategic policy advice to improve outcomes across the sector.
- Managing and maintaining emergency management and rescue policy frameworks.
- Supporting NSW representatives in national emergency management forums.
- Supporting the coordination and governance of the emergency management sector through boards, committees, and reviews.
We're Looking For
- Policy Development & Analysis: Demonstrated expertise in researching, evaluating and interpreting complex information to support sound policy settings, Cabinet submissions and strategic government initiatives.
- Written Communication: Proven ability to prepare clear, accurate and compelling briefs, reports and ministerial correspondence that align with presentation standards and support informed decision-making.
- Project Support & Organisation: Expertise in managing priorities, meeting deadlines and contributing to the delivery of high-impact policy and reform initiatives in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Collaborative Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborative approach and proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships across agencies and stakeholders to facilitate delivery.
- Adaptability & Initiative: Proven capability to respond flexibly to shifting priorities, apply initiative in problem-solving, and seek opportunities to grow, learn and support the broader team.

Salary: Clerk Grade 5/6. Package includes base salary ($99,938 - $110,271) plus superannuation (12%) and leave loading.
