Position: Conveyor Technician (Scrapers, Skirts & Rollers)
Location: Site-based (various client mine sites across WA/PNG)
Reports to: Site Supervisor / Mechanical Supervisor

Key Responsibilities
Scrapers
Install, service, and tension primary and secondary belt scrapers to specification.
Perform blade changeouts, re-tensioning, and alignment checks.
Refurbish scraper assemblies, including poles, tips, arms, cushions, and tensioners.
Conduct inspections and report scraper performance and wear.
Troubleshoot carry-back issues and adjust scrapers for optimal cleaning.
Work safely during shutdowns, breakdowns, and scheduled maintenance.
Skirts
Install, service, and adjust skirting systems to maintain material containment and reduce spillage.
Replace worn liners, soft skirts, and clamps.
Rollers/Idlers
Inspect, remove, and replace conveyor rollers and idlers during shutdowns and breakdowns.
Assist in roller changeout planning to minimise downtime and improve safety.
General Duties
Conduct conveyor health inspections and condition monitoring of scrapers, skirts, and rollers.
Record maintenance activities, inspections, and work orders accurately.
Perform shutdown, scheduled, and ad hoc maintenance to a high standard.
Maintain workshop tools and assist with refurbishment activities off-site as required.
Contribute to continuous improvement in cleaner efficiency, roller reliability, and skirting performance.
Follow VASTRAK and client site safety policies at all times.
Skills & Experience
Demonstrated experience in conveyor maintenance (scrapers, skirts, rollers).
Ability to complete both installations and refurbishments, not just replacements.
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
Strong safety focus and understanding of isolation/lockout procedures.
Ability to work in shutdown teams, independently, and under pressure.
Basic reporting and documentation skills.
Licences & Tickets (desirable)
Current Driver’s Licence (manual preferred).
Confined Space & Working at Heights.
White Card.
High-Risk Work Licence (forklift, EWP, dogging/rigging advantageous).
A trade qualification (mechanical fitter/boilermaker) is desirable but not essential.
